HAMDARD PAKISTAN

On independence from British rule, the newly created country of Pakistan beckoned Hakim Mohammed Said, and he migrated to it. A fledgling country and lack of means both posed challenges to him, but his dedication stiffened his resolve to overcome all difficulties.

His was a life lived for others.

He was the reason for many smiles in Pakistan.

Using his innate talents, Hakim Said raised Hamdard in Pakistan from two small rented rooms and some rented furniture to the level of an Eastern Medicine industry. In 1953, he converted Hamdard into a Waqt (Islamic irrevocable trust) in which almost all and in 1985 the entire- profits of Hamdard Pakistan were handed over to the trust, for use in the development of health, education, and similar nation-building and philanthropic fields. Hamdard Foundation Pakistan was created to manage these funds.

Hakim Mohammed Said believed that he could not build his own future without helping others to build theirs.

Hakim Mohammed Said was martyred in 1998, and now the mantle of Hamdard Pakistan is with Ms. Sadia Rashid, daughter of the Late. Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said and her daughters.

HAMDARD BANGLADESH

In Dhaka, Bangladesh Hamdard was established in 1953. The development of Hamdard Bangladesh was implemented by taking baby steps. Hakim Mohd. Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan, a legendary personality took over the responsibility of Hamdard Bangladesh in 1982 with permission of Shaheed Hakim Mohd Said, Chairman Hamdard Pakistan and was permitted to use Hamdard's Trademarks. Thereafter Hamdard Bangladesh and Hamdard Pakistan aimed to collaborate for the service of the people. For this Hamdard Foundation, Bangladesh was established in 1987.

By virtue of Hakim Yousuf’s versatile personality, the organisation showed tremendous growth and development.

A new dynamism came into the organisation within a short time and Hamdard became very popular in the country as well as overseas for its manifold humanitarian activities.

Hakim Md. Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan made a breakthrough in the history of medical science in Bangladesh. He triumphed against all odds and won official recognition for herbal medicine in Bangladesh. His utmost efforts made it possible to reintroduce and bridge traditional medicine and modern medicine. In Today's day and age, both modern physicians & traditional physicians prescribe Hamdard medicine in their routine practice. Hk Bhuiyan believed that immortality is to live your life doing good things and leaving your mark behind.

Hamdard has established about 200 medical centers all over the country. At these medical centers, no fees are charged from anyone for consultation, examination, tests and services. The patients pay only for medicines. Indigent patients are given treatment and medicine absolutely free.
